Backpacker Magazine Get Out More Tour

 The 2012 Get Out More Tour is off to a fabulous start.  The Tour kicked off in Alabama with events at Alabama Outdoors in Mobile and Mountain High Outfitters in both Birmingham and Huntsville.  It feels really good to be back on the road and even better to get back to sharing our passion for the outdoors.

This year’s Get Out More Tour is placing its focus on helping you to build a backpacking blueprint.  If you’ve never hiked and camped in the wilderness then you definitely need to come out to an event, and you should probably bring a pen and paper because we are going to load you up with tons of information.  Our goal is to give you the information you need to go home and start planning a backpacking adventure.  The wind is howling, gusts are nearing the thirty mile per hour mark, temperatures have dipped into the thirties and the rain is cold.  It’s fall and change is in the air.

Tonight it’s not the sights or smells that intrigue our senses.  Tonight it’s the sounds that dominate our outdoor experience.

 There is no doubt that we have visited our fair share of this country’s outdoor industry’s retailer locations.  At last count we are up over 220 unique stores, and the opportunity that we have been given to spend 5 to 6 hours setting up, breaking down, presenting clinics, talking with customers, and sharing stories with associates at retail locations all across the United States is something we don’t take for granted.  The opportunity to visit outdoor enthusiasts in their element and in their home towns has had a profound impact on both of us.  Our time in stores like The Trail Store, MAST General Store, Massey’s, Great Outdoor Provision Co., Rock Creek Outfitters, Adventure 16, REI, Bass Pro Shops, Cabela’s, Blue Ridge Mountain Sports, Mosquito Creek Outfitters, etc., etc. (over 220 stores makes for a big list) has enabled us to meet so many incredible people from so many walks of life.  Read the rest of this entry »

The Get Out More Tour is currently preparing for another amazing year of adventure and we truly believe the 2011 Tour has the potential to be the best ever!  Sheri and Randy Propster are busy getting the logistics together and they feel as though they have created a platform that will provide a greater connection with their audiences and allow them to inform and inspire more of you than ever before to spend more of your time playing hard in the great outdoors.
